Email Manager - CAMPAIGN BUILDER

HOME

Creative Contents tab

The Contents tab allows you to edit the Content Properties, amend the encoding (used to support language and character types) option, or delete a Content from the Creative.

Editing the Content Properties

  1. Click on the Content for the properties you want to edit in the Creative Elements panel.

  2. Click the Edit Properties button.

  3. Make your changes to the Name and Description. Note: Content names cannot contain the following characters: &/\:*?><|

  4. To use separate encoding on the HTML and Text part of an Email Content:

    1. Uncheck the Use Same Encoding for HTML and Text check box.

    2. Specify the encoding options for the HTML and Text parts of the Email Content.

  1. Click OK.

Template Encoding Rules

The following rules are applied to template encoding for HTML templates:

  • If ‘auto-detect’ is selected, EM uses the charset declared in the template header.

  • If ‘auto-detect’ is selected and no charset is declared in the template header, EM defaults to the client account's default encoding value.

  • If a specific encoding is selected other than ‘auto-detect', EM uses that encoding.

Email Manager cannot detect the encoding for a .txt file (even if saved as Unicode / UTF-8), therefore the 'auto-detect' template encoding option always uses the client account’s default encoding value.

The user must manually select the correct template encoding for any text templates or any content that does not have a charset defined in the template header.

Email Manager does not handle trailing spaces in a charset attribute of an HTML template beingimported as a creative. Remove the space and re-import the templates.

Deleting a Content

  1. Click on the Content you want to delete.

  2. Click the Delete button.

  3. Click the Yes button in the dialog box that appears to delete the Content from the Creative.
